Mandurah

Mandurah is a satellite city 1 hour (72 km) South of Perth, Western Australia.

With a population of about 50,000[many of them being retirees]it is a popular coastal resort much favoured by the citizens of Perth. A major appeal to both residents[the wealthier ones!]and tourists is its network of constructed canals connected to the estuary.Mandurah also has an award winning marina, theatre, hotels, restaurants and excursion boat tours round the canals which are lined with, mainly, large and expensive homes. A controversial railway is currently being constructed which will probably, when completed, make Mandurah an expensive 'suburb'of Perth.
