Marcus Daly

Marcus Daly (December 5, 1841 - November 12, 1900), was an Irish-born American businessman known as the "Copper King".

He emigrated from Ireland to the United States at the age of fifteen, arriving in New York City. He made his fortune as the owner of a copper mine in Montana, known as the Anaconda copper mine. He invested some of his money in a stock farm, which produced Tammany, said to be the fastest horse in the world.
