McPherson Range

The McPherson Range is an extensive mountain range, a spur of the Great Dividing Range, heading in an easterly direction from near to Wallangarra to the Pacific Ocean coatline. It forms a natural border between the states of New South Wales and Queensland.

The range is an area of significant scenic beauty and contains a multitude of National Parks, including Mount Barney National Park, Boonoo Boonoo National Park, Border Ranges National Park and Lamington National Park among many others, many of which possess World Heritage area listing.

The Brisbane-Sydney railway line passes through it, as does the Mount Lindesay Highway, the Lions Road and the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road.
