Media player

A media player is a piece of application software for playing back multimedia files. Most media players support an array of media formats, including both audio and video files.

There are also some media players can only play audio or video, these are known as audio players and video players respectively. These players, however, may give better user experience, as they are specifically tailored toward the media type.
