Mike Berry

Mike Berry (born September 24 1942) is a British actor known for his work from tthe late 1970s and early 1980s.

Berry was born in Northampton. In the late seventies he played Mr. Peters, the father of the two children in the TV version of the Worzel Gummidge books, along with Jon Pertwee and Una Stubbs. He replaced Trevor Bannister in the hit comedy series Are You Being Served? in 1981 as Mr Bert Spooner, and stayed until the end of the show's run in 1985.

He had had a couple of hits in the sixties, though is not to be confused with singer Dave Berry. In the eighties he had a big chart success in the UK with The Sunshine Of Your Smile a romantic song written before the First World War. His most recent film work was acting in Julie and the Cadillacs (1999) and working as a filming crew member on a film called Adaptation (2002).
