The mirror-recognition test for self-awareness tests an animal's ability to recognize itself as itself when looking in a mirror.

Apart from humans, only a few other animals are capable of this. chimps, bonobos, gorillas, orangutans and dolphins are some of the few in this very small collection of animals with this ability.
