The College
Mt. San Antonio College, commonly called Mt. SAC (pronounced as the word "sack"), is a community college located in the Los Angeles suburb of Walnut, California.
It is the largest community college in the State of California with over 33,000 students (Fall 2004). The current president of the college is Dr. Christopher O'Hearn, who joined the college in 2003. Its past president is Dr. Bill Fedderson.
Student Government
The student government, known as the Associated Students of Mt. San Antonio College ("A.S.") is the largest campus organization. It boasts a budget of over $640,000, which is what some might consider sizable for a small city. Because of the large budget, student government elections are intense and have been known to run into electoral problems.
Interesting Facts
Mt. SAC is derogatorily known as "Mt. Slack" by some local area high school students.
Mt. SAC hosts the world's largest cross country invitational every year.
