Nagoya University (名古屋大学 Nagoya Daigaku, abbreviated to 名大 Mēdai; Tokyo's Meiji University's 明大 is pronounced identically) is a Japanese national university in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, and is considered by some to be one of the most prestigious universities in Japan.
Dr. Ryoji Noyori, one of 2001 Nobel Prize in Chemistry winners spent most of his academic career researching and teaching there.
