Online shopping

Online shopping is the process consumers go through to purchase products or services over the internet. Popular websites that allow online purchasing include Amazon, eBay, and Buy.com . Online shopping is popular mainly because of its speed and ease of use.

Payment

Online shoppers commonly use their credit card for making payments, however some systems enable users to create accounts and pay by alternative means. An example of this is PayPal, a system that makes online purchasing much more convenient. A user of PayPal simply has to enter their password and verify their order instead of entering their credit card information repeatedly. Once a payment has been accepted the goods or services can either be downloaded from the internet or delivered to the consumer via traditional means.

Security

Not all online shopping is secure and it is important consumers investigate the service or website before making a purchase. Other issues of concern can include privacy, fluctuating exchange rates for foreign currencies, local and international laws and delivery methods.
