Ornamental

An ornamental is a plant variety that is grown for its beauty (in its end use), rather than commercial or other value. For example a homeowner may grow landscape plants to beautify his home area, or a flower garden for cut flowers or for simple enjoyment. Ornamental plants include houseplants and plants used in outdoor gardening or landscaping. Commercial growers of ornamentals are called horticulturists.
