Barbados is divided into eleven parishes. They are called "parishes" because of the island's religious Anglican history.
Additionally, the nation's capital Bridgetown, which is located within the parish of Saint Michael may one day be made into its own district.
The eleven parishes are:
- Christ Church
- Saint Andrew
- Saint George
- Saint James
- Saint John
- Saint Joseph
- Saint Lucy
- Saint Michael
- Saint Peter
- Saint Philip
- Saint Thomas
