Peyton Rous

Dr Peyton Rous (October 5, 1879 - February 16, 1970) was an American pathologist. He and fellow cancer researcher Charles B. Huggins were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1966. Rous research had shown that some viruses could cause cancer. He was also involved in the development of blood-preserving techniques that made the first blood banks possible.
