Province of Florence

Florence (It. Provincia di Firenze) is a province in the Tuscany region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Florence.

It has an area of 3,514 sq km, and a total population of 933,860 (2001). There are 44 communes in the province (source: Italian institute of statistics Istat, see this link).
