Province of Prato

Prato (It. Provincia di Prato) is a province in the Tuscany region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Prato . It was formed from part of the province of Florence in 1992.

It has an area of 365 sq km, and a total population of 227,886 (2001). There are 7 communes in the province (source: Italian institute of statistics Istat, see this link).
