Psychodynamic psychotherapy

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a type of psychotherapy which is similar to traditional psychotherapy but less intense. Unlike traditional psychotherapy, which is more intense and requires having sessions three to five times a week, psychodynamic psychotherapy can be just once a week. Another difference is that while in traditional psychotherapy the patient sits on a couch facing away from the therapist and free associates, in psychodynamic psychotherapy the therapist and patient sit facing each other.
