Gustav Radde

Gustav Ferdinand Richard Radde (November 27, 1831 - March 2, 1903) was a German naturalist and explorer.

He was born in Gdansk. He made several journeys to southern Russia collecting both plants and animals, and eventually settled in Tbilisi. He later took part in expeditions to Siberia.

His publications include Ornis Caucasica (1884) and Reisen im Suden von Ost-Sibirien in den Jahren 1855-59 (1862-1863).

Animals named after him include birds such as Radde's Warbler and Radde's Accentor , and the Radde's Toad , or Siberian (Sand) Toad (Bufo raddei).
