Reichsgau Posen

Reichsgau Posen was the name briefly given by the Nazis to the territory of Greater Poland which was occupied, annexed and directly incorporated into the German Reich after defeating the Polish army in 1939 (as opposed to the General Government, GG). For the rest of World War II, the official Nazi Germany name was Reichsgau Wartheland. The main parts of Reichsgau Wartheland had been part of Prussia (later Germany) for most of the period between 1793 and 1919 (refer to "See Also" section below).
