The Renault 21 was a mid-sized car built by Renault. It was launched in 1986 to replace the Renault 18 . It was also sold in North America as the Renault Medallion and the Eagle Medallion /Dodge Monaco. It was a front-wheel drive saloon with 1.7 and 2.0 petrol engines as well as a 2.0 turbo-diesel. The 21's front-wheel drive chassis also spawned a seven-seater estate car which was badged Savanna in the UK and Nevada in the rest of Europe. A facelift in 1989 saw the addition of a hatchback and a 2.0 turbo saloon (the four-wheel drive Quadra turbo with a top speed of nearly 140mph). The Renault 21 hatchback and saloon ceased production in early 1994 on the launch of the all-new Laguna hatchback, but the Savanna/Nevada estate remained on the market until late 1995 when the Laguna estate was launched.
