Ronald L. Kuby is a renowned criminal defense and civil rights attorney. Among his better-known clients are Colin Ferguson (The LIRR spree killer) and Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, convicted of masterminding the first World Trade Center bombing. He survived a murder contract put out on him by Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano, the mafia "turncoat".
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1956, Ron Kuby was expelled from junior high school for publishing an underground newspaper. He graduated from Cornell Law School third in his class, magna cum laude, in 1983. After college, legendary civil rights lawyer Bill Kunstler asked Kuby to join his firm. Kuby’s eventual partnership with Kunstler helped establish the young lawyer as a powerful, high profile attorney. Kuby is the co-host, with Curtis Sliwa, of the popular "Curtis and Kuby in the Morning" program, heard weekdays from 5 to 10 am on WABC-AM 770 in New York City. Kuby continues to practice law today, although his radio show has taken over most of his public life.
