Saul Needleman

Saul B. Needleman is a bioinformaticist. Along with Christian Wunsch, in 1970 he published A general method applicable to the search for similarities in the amino acid sequence of two proteins, which introduced the Needleman-Wunsch algorithm. This was the first time dynamic programming had been applied to biological sequence comparison.
