ShantaramShantaram is a novel written by Greg Roberts , an Australian who escaped from Pentridge Prison and escaped to India where he lived for 10 years. Shantaram is an uncompromising story of a fugitive on the run in Bombay, India; a man who sets up a clinic in a third world slum, works for the biggest Don in the Bombay Mafia, heads straight into Russian guns in the hills of Afghanistan, and earns the name insightfully given him by his best friend's mother - “Shantaram” – Man of Peace.” Rights have recently been sold to produce Shantaram as a movie starring Johnny Depp. External links |
