Shirley Temple Bar

Shirley Temple Bar is a drag queen from Dublin, Ireland whose name is a play on both Shirley Temple and a cultural area of Dublin city called Temple Bar. A winner of The Alternative Miss Ireland competition, Shirley presents a weekly bingo show in Dublin's largest gay bar, The George. The character (in a more sanitised version) also presented "Telly Bingo" on Ireland's national broadcast channel RTE. This was controversial not because she was a drag queen presenting a show for housewifes and the elderly but because the character had none of the attitude and sass which her fans had come to love at The George.
