Sierra National Forest

Sierra National Forest is a U.S. National Forest located on the western slope of central Sierra Nevada in California. It includes more than 1.3 million acres (5,300 km²), at altitudes that range from 1,000 to 14,000 feet (300 to 4,300 m) in elevation.

The area is part of a larger area placed under federal government management on February 14, 1893 as the Sierra Forest Reserve, the second national forest reserve in California at the time.

The forest includes a number of attractions, including Fresno Dome and Nelder Grove.
