Sleep onset rem

Most normal adults enter the first period of REM sleep 90 minutes after falling asleep. Sleep Onset REM is the phenomenon characterised by REM occurring within 25 minutes of falling asleep. It is usually associated with sleeping disorders, such as narcolepsy, but it can also occur in healthy individuals who have been sleep deprived.
