The sleeper shark (Somniosus pacificus) is a shark living in waters off Antarctica and is one of two creatures (along with the sperm whale) that hunt giant squid and colossal squid for food, as research on the stomach contents of this shark has shown. Scientists are unsure how the 7 meter (23 feet) shark can devour its 12-14 meter (39-56 feet) prey.
