South Coast Plaza

South Coast Plaza is an upscale shopping mall built in 1967 in Costa Mesa, California, in the affluent southern part of Orange County. It is right next to Interstate 405.

It has nine major anchor stores, including Nordstrom, Sears, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Robinsons-May . It is also home to many upscale boutiques, including Chanel, Burberry, Tiffany & Co., La Perla , Lacoste, and Jimmy Choo. According to Tiffany & Co., its South Coast Plaza branch store had the highest sales volume of any of its branch stores in the United States.

One sign of South Coast Plaza's importance is that it is included by many boutiques in their list of locations at the bottom of their magazine advertisements, along with world cities like London, Paris, and New York.

South Coast Plaza has about 2.8 million square feet of leaseable floor space and over 280 stores. It is also home to the Orange Lounge, a small branch of the Orange County Museum of Art. According to Women's Wear Daily , as of 2004, the mall has the highest sales per square foot of any mall in California, at about $800.
