Tatler

Tatler is a British magazine, originally founded in 1709 by Richard Steele. Steele's idea was to publish the news and gossip heard in London coffee-houses, hence the title. A "reporter" was based in each of the best-known of these, in order that readers need not miss out on anything.

In its first incarnation, the paper lasted only two years. However, it was revived, and survives today as a glossy fashion and society magazine.

It is currently owned and operated by Advance Publications.
