Tea culture

Tea Culture

Without "tea" there would not be any Chinese nor Chinese culture! The original cup of tea was not invented but discovered as a course of daily affair of the simple inhabitants in the hills of Min-nan. These hilly people of old China found out the secret of preserving the essence of the green tea leaves. It was rolled and dried and good for keeping until when needed. Every dwelling mud hut has a simple set of tea implements for brewing a hot cup of tea. One wonder why they keep a hot thermos flash. It is for making tea. The small cups and the hot bottle are symbols of welcoming any visitors or neighbors. What would life be without the fun a simple habit of setting down to rap. Yes in order to chat , visitors needed to sit down, right, one need to be seated down when invited to come into their homes. To stand and talk is not only seeming uncouth, but without the manners of civilized people. They may be the most ancient civilization far longer than the Romans or the Egyptians , but without tea, the Chinese Culture would not have a starting point to develop any roots. The barbarian hordes may come, and conquer these people and their lands but to enjoy the friendliness of such simple Chinese farmers and the old traditional culture of Min-nan, they have to compromise and usually the old culture would eventually get into their manners and way of living. Remember no Chinese Culture without our tea ! It is just like Kava for Fujian people.
