Teaching assistant

A teaching assistant (TA) is a junior graduate scholar (often a graduate student), employed on a temporary contract by a college or university for the purpose of teaching students recitation sessions, holding office hours, grading homework or exams, etc.

The term Visitng Lecturer is also applied in the UK.
