Berenstain Bears

The Berenstain Bears are a family of fictional bear characters appearing in a series of children's books written by Stan and Jan Berenstain.

The family consists of: Papa Bear, the lumberjack father, Mama Bear, his homemaker wife, and their two children, Brother & Sister Bear (Prior to Sister's birth, Brother's name was Small Bear.) The Bear family lives in Bear Country alongside many other bear characters, such as Too-Tall Grizzly, Cousin Fred, Ralph Ripoff, and Prof. Actual Factual.

The Berenstain Bears have appeared in dozens of stories, both in novel and picture book format. They also appeared in a short-lived animated television series on PBS, which has since been released on DVD in some regions, and a variety of edutainment software.
