Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, RN (April 5, 1769–September 20, 1839) was a British naval officer, best known as the man to whom Lord Nelson addressed his famous last words – Hardy was Captain of the Fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar and by Nelson's side as he died.
There is a monument to him within walking distance of the Dorset village of Portesham.
