Tommie Lee Andrews

Tommie Lee Andrews (born ?) is/was the first American person to be convicted using the technique of genetic fingerprinting. Andrews, a serial rapist, raped a woman in Orlando, Florida at knifepoint during a burglary in 1987. He was convicted in 1988 to 22 years in prison.

However, Andrews later had the sample retested because of concerns over the reliability of early genetic fingerprinting techniques.
