Tsar Cannon


Tsar Pushka (Царь-пушка in Russian) is a huge cannon, founded in 1586 by a Russian founding master Andrey Chokhov . Weight - 40 tons, length - 5,34 m, calibre - 890 mm. This cannon was meant to defend the Kremlin in times of war, but it has never been used. It is decorated with reliefs, including one depicting tsar Fedor Ivanovich on a horse. The carriage was made in 1835. The cannon is placed inside the Moscow Kremlin next to the Tsar Kolokol.
