Tuusula

Tuusula (Tusby in Swedish) is a municipality of Finland. It belongs to the Helsinki region.

It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Uusimaa region. The municipality has a population of 34,384 (2004) and covers an area of 225.43 km² of which 5.74 km² is water. The population density is 154.5 inhabitants per km².

Tuusula has three centers. The administrative center is Hyrylä (about 19 500 residents), other two are Jokela (5300 residents) and Kellokoski (4300 residents).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Transportation

From the center of Tuusula, Hyrylä, there are good bus connections to Helsinki, via Tuusula motorway. There are also two train stations in the main railway line of Finland, Jokela and Nuppulinna.
