Valentyn Symonenko

Valentyn Symonenko (in Ukrainian: Валентин Костянтинович Симоненко; b. July 4, 1940) is a Ukrainian statesman. Since late 1996 he has been the head of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine. The Chamber exercises control over the execution of the state budget in the name of the Verkhovna Rada.

He previously served as mayor of Odesa, as the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, and for a short period in October, 1993, as the Acting Prime Minister of Ukraine.
