A Vegetation structure or a Vegetation Community Structure is ___ that consists of four main components. These components are:

  1. Layers and Tiers, layers of growth between different types and heights of vegetation.
  2. Canopy Cover, the proportion of canopy cover, usually given as a percentage.
  3. Dominant Species, the species with the dominant influence in the vegetation community.
  4. Spacing, the spacing between irregular (such as a natural forest) or regular (such as a pine plantation) plants.
