Venceslau Brás Pereira Gomes (February 26, 1868 - May 15, 1966). Brazilian politician. Brás was born in Itajubá , Minas Gerais State. Became governor of this state in 1909, until the following year when he was elected vice-president under Hermes Rodrigues da Fonseca. Elected president in 1914 and served until 1918. Declared war on the German Empire in 1917 on the wake of the World War I.
