Vimmerby Municipality

Vimmerby is a Municipality in Kalmar County, in south-eastern Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 1139.2 km². Of the total population of 15776, 7889 are male, and 7887 are female. The population density of the community is 14 inhabitants per km².

Vimmerby is currently a tourist attraction due to historical links with Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. Astrid Lindgren's World , an amusement park for children with themes from her books is one of the most reputed sites in the city.
