West Lindsey is a local government district in Lincolnshire, England. It covers Gainsborough, Market Rasen, Cherry Willingham , Nettleham, and Welton. The council headquarters are based at Gainsborough, as is the Planning Department, which has gained itself a reputation in recent years for poor performance in the national league tables, and for taking an introspective and backward-looking stand against what it terms 'modernistic' designs.
