Wilfrid Scawen Blunt

Wilfrid Scawen Blunt (18401922) was a British poet and writer. He was born in Sussex, and served in the Diplomatic Service from 1858 to 1869. He married Lady Anne Noel and together they travelled extensively in the Middle East and India.

Blunt opposed British imperialism, and his championship of Irish causes led to his imprisonment in 1888.

He is best known for his poetry, which were published in a collected edition in 1914.
