Will Turner

Will Turner, full name William Turner, is a fictional character in the film Pirates of the Caribbean, played by Orlando Bloom. He is a blacksmith working in Port Royal, and in love with Elizabeth Swann.

Will is the son of the pirate "Bootstrap" Bill Turner. He bears a great resemblance to his father, both in appearance and in physical ability.

Bootstrap was a crew member on the Black Pearl under Captain Jack Sparrow's command. When the crew mutinied, Bootstrap sent away a piece of the Aztec gold to Will so that the crew would remain cursed forever. As Bootstrap was thrown overboard with a cannon tied to his bootstraps, Will is the last remaining source of the Turner blood needed to break the curse.

It was believed that Will Turner was based on Guybrush Threepwood, the main character of the video game Monkey Island (which was also based on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride).
