William L. Dayton

William Lewis Dayton (February 17, 1807December 1, 1864) was an American lawyer from Freehold Borough, New Jersey. He represented New Jersey in the United States Senate from 1842-1851 and in 1856 was the first Republican nominee for Vice-President of the United States.
