Yukichi Chuganji

Yukichi Chuganji (March 23, 1889 - September 28, 2003) was the world's oldest documented man from the death of Antonio Todde in January 2002 until his own death the evening of September 28, 2003. Chuganji at the time was the oldest man to first get the title, at 112 years 286 days. More than 18 months later, he finally passed away at 114 years 189 days, which ranks him at the third or fourth-oldest male supercentenarian on record.

A retired silkworm breeder, he lived in the city of Ogori, Fukuoka prefecture, with daughter Kyoko, 74, near the center of the island of Kyushu, Japan. With his death, Joan Riudavets became the world's oldest recognized man.
